Grand Union’s The Growing Project and We Go Outside Too are two exciting Birmingham based projects designed to bring participants closer to nature and help them find the strength and healing it can bring. Jo Capper (Collaborative Programme Curator at Grand Union) and Marlon Patrice (Founder of We Go Outside Too) will be in conversation discussing their work.

Jo is an artist and curator with a strong desire to heal, restore and do good in the world. Working with Birmingham Grand Union's The Growing Project, she creates alternative cultural and living practices that start with simple acts of growing or sharing food - embodying the cultural specifics of human warmth. Through building communal practices, she is interested in the phenomenology of the making process and imagining new structures for living.

Marlon is a social entrepreneur and founded “We Go Outside Too” at the start of 2020, as a tool for healing both himself and his community.  WGOT creates a safe space for intergenerational black community members from across Birmingham to connect with each other and the restorative properties of nature, improving health and wellbeing.

Check out The Growing Project and We Go Outside Too for more information about their incredible work.

This event will feature BSL interpretation throughout.
